On this clip we first separate the fallopian tubes and ovaries from the
uterus since this patient desired ovarian conservation. We then peeled the bladder away from the lower uterus and cervix.
Lastly, we isolate and cauterize the blood supply to the uterus.
On this clip we “morcellate” (remove the uterus in small strips).
This is how we remove a large uterus through small incisions.
On this clip we separate (amputate) the uterus from the cervix.
This is how we finish up the procedure. We place a powdered compound on the cervix to avoid bleeding. on this patient we also placed and adhesion barrier on the ovaries to hopefully prevent scar tissue development
