Tapia attended Cornell University and NYU’s medical school in New York. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Texas, Southwestern and Parkland hospital. Dr. Tapia is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She became the first physician in Volusia and Flagler counties to be accredited by the American Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery (www.AIMIS.org). Dr. Tapia has also served as department chair at Halifax Medical Center, is currently serving as Medical Director of Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center’s Birth Care Center as well as being chairman of the OBGYN department at FHMMC. She has accepted a teaching position with Florida State University’s Medical School.
Outside of work, Dr. Tapia enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys travelling on medical missions, cycling and participating in sprint triathlons.
